The Golisano Childens Hospital is ugly.
The Center of Excellence is ugly.
The Harrison House former Apartments is ugly.
The NYS Office Building next to City Hall is ugly.
Why not use the character of the attractive Armory Square buildings or the Clinton Square historic buildings as the character of the city, not some ugly junk from the past 70 years.

The Everson is about 55 years old.
Golisano Children’s Hospital doesn’t look anything close to brutalist and doesn’t look much different from the buildings you like.
As explained before, the COE’s design has an environmental purpose behind it.
With the last two, you are really digging in terms of old examples.
Building architecture varies within the city and if you can’t see that, then I’m wondering if you go into the city or live in the area.
Look, I get that you have your favorite types of buildings, but they honestly aren’t anything different from some of the newer buildings here, just don’t fit in anywhere unless it is a new neighborhood(think of the potential of the Inner Harbor) or are suburban style apartments. If city design is going to be discussed, there needs to be a comprehensive discussion about how said buildings fit, as well as how other aspects of design come into play.
Again, I literally did this with another thread and made to where it was in relation to the city itself(the gentrification/revitalization thread). Perhaps being away from the forum a long time, gave an impression that all of these topics you’ve started haven’t been discussed or brought up, but have been over the years.
