I purchased both the 8 inch and 10 inch HD 7th generation tablets after Amazon customer service were running their mouth about how much better it is than the previous generation tablets. Well I have a 6 inch HD and 8 inch HD 5th generation tablets. The 8 inch has to be replaced, so I had to buy another one. The big problem with the 7th generation tablets that I have to return is the brightness of the screen. Even though they will tell you that the screens are brighter than the previous generation= it's all a lie because I did side by side comparison. There might not be much of a difference when you are on the screen where you can view all of the apps, but you will still notice the 5th generation tablets brighter. It's until you watch the videos is when you will definitely see the difference. The areas of the video where there are shadows or dark colors you will notice compared to the 5th generation they are noticeably much darker to the point of causing some of those parts of the videos to lose details like in dark scenes. I tried watching Daredevil on Netflix yesterday and Amazon movies and TV shows last night for the first time. It's terrible. It was putting me to sleep after having to stare at a screen that isn't bright enough. Even if you change all of the settings and do factory reset, it will never be bright enough. Now I am waiting to receive my 10 inch 5th generation tablet. I know the 5th generation tablets have good brightness on the screen because I have 2 of them. I prefer the option of increasing the brightness as much as possible. I don't know why they would change that and why they claim these new generation tablets are brighter than the previous ones. It's a lie.
