Everythings electric here and I cook a lot. So its about right. 4 adults live here.
I'm soooo glad your power doesn't go out. You were not unlucky like me. I should have done more research before buying property in outage-prone areas of Tampa!

Go to Google and type TECO Energy. Read the google reviews! They are not pretty. It's not just me with outages. Here is just one!

I've lived across s.c., n.c, tennessee, and georgia - even south florida, and I can honestly say this is the WORST power company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Their customer service is o.k. (my experience only), but their service sucks, sucks, and then sucks some more. I've never had a single late payment - not one - and yet my power goes out over 10 times every year. This is of no concern to them of course. It matters not that I have to reprime the filter on the aquarium, fight with the pond pump, reset all the clocks, and lose weeks of mathematical computations being run on my desktop. Their likely response is well you could always get a universal power supply. Yes, I could also get a power company that doesn't have the power go out every time the wind blows the wrong direction. Of course I can't - I'm stuck with them. What blows my mind is how often they send out these letters tooting their own horn, framing themselves as a superior service provider, and going on and on about how they are SAVING people money - for instance by replacing all the street lights with new energy efficient lights. The only people saving money is them. However, I'd be mostly indifferent to all this except for the fact that they can't seem to prevent ad nauseam service interruptions. People, get your act together. If you want to allow multiple new housing communities to be scrunched in every nook and corner, then for the love of god provide the appropriate infrastructure to keep the power on. Perhaps what you should really be replacing are transformers that can handle the load. I don't really care what they have to do, so long as they get off their behinds and actually do it. As a monopoly there is no accountability, but I can tell you this, their performance over the last several years has been terrible. When I move away in a few years, the thing I will miss the least is the traffic around here. The thing I will miss the 2nd least is Tampa Electric! It will feel so good when one day I can finally say good riddance to Teco. It's funny when you think about it - I hold up my end of the bargain with flying colors and if I don't I would be penalized. On the other hand when it comes to them, they don't care, they don't have to, they're the power company.
