Just wanted to drop a line to everyone on here and say hola! My family and I just relocated to Sunbright from Tucson. It was just waaay to hot there (for my 2 children especially). I used to live in Silver Point TN and went to high school in Baxter. We're leasing our place for now, but I hope to find somewhere in a year or two to purchase some acreage and get started on a house. If anyone else is in the Sunbright area, feel free to drop me a line!!

Smile skeeterflea

Hi skeeterflea. I think that this thread may be too old for any reply but I thought that it was worth a try! Maybe someone will read it and be able to reply! I was wondering if you were still in Sunbright and how you liked it? I am strongly considering a move there but in all honesty, I'm concerned about TN's high crime rate. It will sound silly to the native Tennesseans but I come from an area where almost no one locks their doors and anything other than the 'once-a-year drunk' making a scene, there's virtually no crime here. I know...sounds hard to believe, but it's true. Conversely, there's tons of snow, no church within a 2 hr. drive (that I would worship with) and lots and lots of cold weather! Anyway...I have family in western TN and even though I don't want to move there (western TN), I am looking closely at Sunbright. I'm retired. Married with no kids at home. I'm looking for a milder climate, friendly neighbors, LOW crime, and a place to live peaceably. Does it suit? Either way, I hope that you're truly enjoying your home in Sunbright! Best wishes and happy days to you!

As a home inspector, I have been in Sunbright a dozen or so times in the last two decades. Its a very small town, in an economically challenged area. Morgan and Scott Counties have little going for them, and are both economically challenged.
As a small community, it could be a little harder to assimilate. I'm not sure of crime statistics, but I would not be surprised if there were a lot of property crimes as well as drugs.
If I remember right, cell service was pretty bad out in the sticks (away from the main part of the city).
