Thanks
My son just spent 4 months there (college student).
He is out of town right now but the next time I talk to him, I'll ask.
btw
He loved Panama.
Anywhere on the beach will be fine. Dont go through one of the big beach rental places just look on craigslist they usually have reputable renters and lower prices. You may even checkout the sublease section with this being a military town you may be able to sublease a furnished apartment fron a solider on deployment. Hope this helps
If you are coming to Panama City Panama, there is no beach here in the city although the city is on the Pacific Ocean. I would suggest the neighborhood I live in called El Cangrejo and suggest you rent close to the Via Argentina and near the Andres Bellos Park. There are loads of children here and kid friendly restaurants and you will be in the very center of everything in Panama City in the area which is the number one choice for ex-pats.
I lived acroos the street from the park in El Cangrejo where at 3PM every day the nannies would descend with their charges in tow, and catch up on the latest gossip.
Being born n raised there, I can suggest Avenida Balboa, the jewel with the gorgeous ocean view. But you cant go wrong with San Francisco, Golf Heights, Via Porras, Albrook, Clayton, Chorillo, Paitilla, Punta Pacifica, Panama Oeste, Las Cumbres, Villa Zaita.
Up the coast, on the beaches, are cheaper, just as wonderful rentals and houses for sale. But there's not as much to do as in Panama City, and you might want to consider that.
Go there and visit...it wont take you long to figure out where you want to plant it!
