January high temps come in at 46.6, about four+ degrees above normal. This continues a streak of at or above normal temps for all of 2020. As usual, all my readings are based on the official weather station in the Tri-Cities, PSC, (Pasco airport).

The next week looks to be above normal as we head into February.

So far February has been quite warm, one of the warmest I remember, and I have been here 30 years this next July. Breezy today, burning the wood stove but hardly need it.

Well, the Weather Channel website is showing highs in the mid to high 40's, and lows just around freezing, out to the 16th. That said, we can't consider winter over just yet. Although if that forecast holds, usually by the end of February, it's about done.

The entire NW/Rocky mountain region will get this cold snap. Looks to be short lived with little snow in the Columbia basin.

Depending on moisture, could be a repeat of February 2019.

I doubt that a repeat of 2/19 is going to occur. There is little or no precipitation in this weeks forecast, (maybe a bit on Saturday) and these forecasts are usually pretty right on the mark.

To add, February of ‘19 had a record 17 inches of snow. Doubtful we will come close to that for a long time.

I lived and worked there for 13 years. Summer starts in April and ends in late October. By mid-august, 105 deg day time temperatures were the norm. Is it even hotter, now? In the 13 years I spent there it only rained once during that period, in April. I forget the year.
