I don't know of a Chinese place I'd endorse. For Thai, we like Thai Spice on Clearwater but can also go to The King and I. We have never tried that Chinese place that moved in where Henry's used to be, Double Bypass or whatever it's called, so I can't say, and it's been ten years since we went to the one in the Hastings/REI parking lot.

Our fave place is Shanghai off of Hwy395 and Clearwater...they have good prices, pretty good service and fast food times. We have 4 kids and we can all eat of the "specials" menu for less than $20. We probably go there atleast 2x a month. My dad and my sis also go there quite frequently!!!

Emerald of Siam in the Uptown is also good. For Americanized Chinese food, a good quick lunch not too expensive, try Mandarin House on Lee Blvd.

Like JKK, I don't know of any "high-end" Chinese restaurants here in Tri-Cities. Although if you are willing to accept that you are not in Chinatown, Mandarin House is good.

Mitch, remember when the Sterling's on Clearwater was a Chinese buffet (before it was India Palace)? Did you ever hear about one of the owner's brothers going after him with a butcher knife? I was there! Unfortunately, I didn't get a very good look at how it happened. I think the guy was unstable (I guess that stands to reason if you attack your bro with deadly kitchen cutlery).

I didn't see that one, and I didn't see the one where 2 guys were knife-fighting at the old Food Pavillion on G-Way, and a bud of mine broke it up, getting his own hand cut pretty bad, but was credited with preventing a homicide.

Some people. You can dress them up but can't take them anywhere...

Try Sakura on Keene, next to Albertsons. Excellent Chinese.

Default Best Chinese

If you like Chinese you must try Golden Palace in Richland on Geo-way, just north of City Hall and the Fire station. Lunch is between 5 and 6 bucks and I always leave with leftovers for another meal. Oh, and the free tea is awesome!

I did go to Shanghai once and wasn't really that impressed with the food, I did like the low prices and the service but the food didn't really do it for me.
