$4.8 million dollars in gold bars were stolen from an armored truck. The truck had mechanical problems and pulled over the side of the road when they were ambushed by armed gun men who tied them up and helped themselves to the loot. If they are smart about this they should be able to get away with it if they cash out the gold slowly and don't tell anyone. This is the highest amount of loot stolen in my recent memory.
1. Trucks carrying over a certain value will have "chase cars" that accompany them--usually a requirement of the insurance company.
2. Armored trucks that break down are supposed to sit tight and call for help and keep everything locked until law enforcement cars arrive. Not all get out and walk around.
Consensus is that something is hugely off. Either an inside job or ?
^I agree something is off here... Seems like incompetent employees. If they would of sat tight everything would be fine and they would be safe inside the truck. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Something really sounds fishy about this whole scenario! Like a bad movie script.
It was kinda, lol! Movie was called Hard Rain, had Ed Asner, Morgan Freeman, Randy Quaid, and Christian Slater in it. Filmed in Jasper/Huntingburg, IN.
If I was carrying gold in a semi truck, there would be cameras mounted inconspicuously on the truck that recorded actions around that truck. That way if there ever was a robbery I wouldn't have to rely on silly sketches for suspects.

And have the footage sent to a cloud server so if they burnt the truck it wouldn't be lost.
