Just what the title says! We finally finished with the 10 tons of screened fill dirt and 20 tons of 3/8 Coronado Brown gravel. PLUS the irrigation system, PLUS the boulders, PLUS moving the darker brown rock that was previously on the ground in the back yard and out in the front yard to the garden beds in the back yard, PLUS all the nursery stone work, PLUS planting a few things, PLUS the river rock swale, PLUS many of these same things for the front yard.... Well, you get the idea! I hope you enjoy watching and that you like what you see!!!

Really nice seeing the end result! It's so clean and spacious and calming, and somehow the yard looks bigger now. As you were walking along, I kept thinking how the new irrigation system is there underground and no more worry about leaks. The two additional boulders make a nice grouping. Loved seeing the lizard who lives in your yard -- he's beautiful!

I am glad you like the result wildflowers27! I agree that it looks cleaner and more spacious. It does calm me to know that the irrigation is new and working properly. With this in place I do not have to worry about some plants not getting enough water or wasting water with a geyser somewhere in the system spewing water over the fence. I am glad I got the additional boulders. It was worth the price and effort, and they fit the scale of that nursery stone enclosure. We have named the lizard "fat boy" for obvious reasons. He seems to make a good living gathering insects off the patio and out of the garden. He really is quite handsome with his colors and pattern. He is part of our extended family which also includes "momma" who is the dove that has the nest in our breezeway. We worry about the lizard when we don't see him for a day or two. We do have many roadrunners that visit our back yard, and earlier this lizard was in a standoff with a rattlesnake, so even though our garden is a pretty safe place, there is still danger. We wonder where he goes in the winter. Does he have a den he has dug that he retreats to when the weather gets cold? It would be interesting to know! This is why I do not want to touch this garden while this lizard is still living in it.

Thanks again for watching and your comment!

Very nice. I like the gates at 6:10. I need to do something similar, and am looking for inspiration.

Thank you JD_MD! I am glad you like the way it turned out! Yes, the patio lizard has demonstrated his ability secure enough food over the years. He is quite a successful specimen!
