We started this day with a 90% chance of rain, and as usual, it got cut to 20%, so I was not optimistic for our chances of rain on this day. We had a little bit just after midnight, about .03 inches. We had a loud and flashy storm come through that did not give any measurable rain at my location, but lots of lightning and thunder just to our south. Around 4pm, we had a nice little shower that gave us .16 inches. around 6pm we got a severe thunderstorm warning which advertised 60 mph wind and 1” hail, but Green Valley was on the edge of it, so not a lot of expectations. However, I got about .35 from this storm for a total for the day of .54 inches which was a real gift compared to what I was expecting. We got some wind and rain, but none of the damaging wind or hail which I was thankful for. My neighbor got .65 inches, so I guess the results were not uniform. Anyhow, it was a good day. I hope you enjoy the lightning shots, the heavy rain and some of that lovely thunder!

Strong lightning! Helpful to see it in freeze-frame like that, just how strong it is.

The weather station was a gift from a neighbor. He even helped me cement in the post and mount it too! I love having this station. I end up looking at it for one reason or another almost daily, so much information available!!!
