This is something you do not get to do every day. My boss at Green Valley Decorative Rock, Ricki, gave me the opportunity to ride along with our driver, Scott, so I could get a better understanding of how things are for our delivery drivers. Part of my job is to take orders from customers for deliveries of rock, dirt, sand, etc., so it is good to know what the drivers face. She also approved me to take video so I could share. We all have an idea of what a delivery is, but going along on a real delivery gives insights that just imagining it cannot give. It is our policy (GVDR) that the driver makes the final decision regarding requests for anything other than a standard curbside delivery since they know the limits of their equipment and additionally, they have experience from hundreds if not thousands of deliveries. Our drivers will do their best to meet requests from customers as long as they feel it is safe to do so. Remember, not every delivery is on flat ground as this one was, and even on this one we had trees and metal spikes to deal with. When the truck bed is fully up, it is 20' to 30' in the air, so the driver has to take that into account as well. I hope you enjoyed the dump truck ride down I-19 point of view!!!

Really enjoyed this ride-along down to Tubac and seeing your delivery up close!! Scott is a great driver. Also interesting to see how alert and energetic the on-duty dog was at the border check point. That's a lot of gravel to get down there in multiple loads but what a pretty drive, everything is so green. Your company seems like a great place to work - thank you for sharing this!

You are so kind to watch and comment on my goofy videos wildflowers27! Yep, Scott is an excellent driver, and I was fortunate to be able to join him for one of his many trips to Tubac that day! It really is a beautiful drive. Scott and I talked about that on the way down. And yes, even with not enough rain, things are still quite green. Green Valley Decorative Rock is a great place to work. Maybe the fact that I only work 2 days a week and do not really need to work makes my time there that much more enjoyable to me. I really enjoy helping customers and hearing about their projects. Having worked with my neighbor, Heinz on numerous landscape projects and his homes as well as mine has given me a lot of experience to draw upon when I work with customers to meet their needs, and for that, I am very thankful!!!
