Neighborhood has bodies under it (Tucson: real estate, law, homeowner)

In case you were looking at real estate in Tucson, be aware of the Dunbar-Spring neighborhood. It used to be a cemetary and they claim there are still bodies under everything. Here is a little excerpt from a recent article....





To the average eye the Dunbar-Spring neighborhood may seem like just any typical Tucson neighborhood but what's beneath it is where the story begins.

"This is the location of the court street cemetery that was used between 1875 and 1909," said Homer Thiel, an archaeologist from Desert Archaeology.
Thiel showed News 4 Tucson a map where at least 3,000 bodies remain buried in between Speedway boulevard, North Main avenue, West Second street and North Stone avenue.
A portion of the burials are catholic, the other is protestant.
"This cemetery had between 8,000 and 9,000 people buried in the 34 years that it was in existence so all of the homeowners in this area if they dig a hole in the ground, they have a chance of locating a body," Thiel said.

I do not think there is an AZ law that says homeowners have to disclose something like this.
