Does anyone have any they'd share? Or maybe a website with some up? I was just curious what it used to look like before it looked like it looks now.

Maybe also an old map -- oooh, that'd be neat. I found this one... http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/histo..._ariz_1920.jpg Haha

There is an old map in the Old Studios. If I remember correctly, the city pretty much consisted of about the 20 streets and avenues downtown at the time.

I think it was about as old as this one:

TUCSON ARIZONA (AZ) LANDOWNER MAP 1870-1880 (http://www.historicmapsrestored.com/citymaps/s-z/tucson1870.html - broken link)

Could've been even the same...

Actually, the one I'm talking about (in the studios) is not much bigger or clearer...

It is not easy to find photographic evidence of Tucson, that is pre-existing its current skyline. At least not on the net. You have to dig deep.

Here is a little nugget with an interesting picture: Amphithteater School District Heritage

Here is some stuff about old/abandoned air fields in the area with some nifty photos:

Here is one that pisses me off kinda.

Used to be I could go hiking here: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1208/...475919.jpg?v=0

and see this: http://blog.tucsonvalley.com/wp-cont...petroglyph.jpg

Now it looks like this http://www.tucsonproperties.net/data/tar/pics/20921053.jpg (broken link)

And when in the parts of the canyon that were not developed, I can not find any petroglyph. I've been told there are still some to be found, but my bearings are probably all screwed up because the paths in to the site I took now have parking lots or houses built on them.

Deer hunting in the area has gone to hell too!

An old postcard. looks like a Renault behind the '56 Chevy:

This one isn't old, I don't think, but it's always strange to see palms with snow:

If it makes ya happy, it's gone now. I had a summer job once downtown and was kind of glad it was there. Should you need something of that nature, there’s no place to get it from anymore.
