Greetings and happy new year!

If someone is fired due to frequently falling behind on the work line due to being physically unable to keep up,
should they be eligible for Unemployment Insurance benefits?

I think one of the UI requirements is that the applicant/recipient must've lost his or her job "through no fault of (their) own."

So, is frequently falling behind on the work line due to physical incapability "no fault of (their) own?"

Thank you.

It all depends.

Did you claim to have the ability to perform the job but found out later you're not as fit as you thought?
Have you previously been able to perform the job?
Have you informed the employer of your inability to physically do the job?
Have the physical requirements changed since first being employed in that capacity?

Happy New Year! I'm guessing that you of course thought you could physically do the job by the job description, but later found out you couldn't. I'd still apply for UI & see. They'll either say yes or no.

I hope you get it!
