I would be remiss if I did not post this gem of a find downtown. It has been written up in the Columbian, but for some reason we have missed it. Dediko on Columbia and Evergreen. It is a mother/son operation, only 4 tables and a counter, so reservations are a must. It is craft food from their native Georgia (like in Russia, not the US Southern state). I cannot think of a single thing I would change.

Last Friday the kids and I stopped into the new Japanese Ramen place on 192nd called Fujiya Ramen in the same building as Roots (same complex as the QFC on 192nd). Very nice place, nicely decorated and good Ramen. We will be back. I think slightly nicer than the popular Ramen place on Mill Plain across from Kaiser Permanente called Kenji's Ramen. Prices are about the same.

It's always tempting to just go across the river to Portland but there really is a growing selection of good dining options on this side.

I am really excited to hear of a new Ramen place. I spend a lot of time at home improving my homemade ramen, and still have a long ways to go. I am never out as far as 192nd, but this deserves a trip. I was not extremely impressed with Kenji's, but will try again. I got really spoiled by Afuri in Portland, among others, and many in LA.
