Yes, that Filipino market is still there, where we buy all our Halo Halo ingredients. I don't know the name, but it's in a strip mall with a dingy stucco exterior. Heading towards the ocean, the strip mall is on your left side, and shaped like an upside-down L. The Filipino market is in the crook of the L, which is visible as you are driving towards the ocean. I don't remember the name of it, unfortunately!

Or, Mamaya Market in Ventura? 4020 E Main St # B3-1. A Japanese market. Trader Joe's stopped selling soba noodles and we buy ours there.

All true, but at least now it won't collapse!

I actually do find the improvement to be worthwhile, as average speeds are noticeably faster in these areas now.

My wife is really going to love your post. We just ate palabok for lunch today, however, we are still here in Angeles City, Philippines. It really is good to know that when we do make the big move that there will be places to buy all of the RIGHT STUFF.

Thank you to that replied,

Thank you all for your excellent posts. Know we will love getting all of the fresh veggies.

I lived in Camarillo about 22 years ago and my asthma was controlled THEN by my medications. If we do decide to make the move there I hope it will be AGAIN.

pshinspections
I lived there for 25 years and would not move back... the ratio of cost-of-living to average salary is just too far out of whack from reality, and has been for two decades now. No, California has not hit bottom yet. Much more correction to be seen...

I get your point, well stated.

Lets put it more simpler....I've seen Oxnard since 1958. Its barely changed and fresh air and sure Hispanics are there; but their EVERYWHERE. Next door is Ventura, PARADISE PEOPLE! THEN YOU HAVE OJAI AND SANTA BARBARA..... PARADISE LAND! snow on the mountains in the distance, clean air all year long, ocean breeze, nice stores , close to T Oaks, NICE STORE IN BETWEEN HERE AND THERE.....sure its $$$ but CALIFORNIA IS $$$ NO MATTER IF ITS IN THE SLUMS OF LA...........LONG BEACH OR RIVERSIDE....pick where you can stand to live and deal with it
