Just want to throw this out there. In Ventura, there is a wonderful Adobe with tons of history. Called Olivas
Adobe. On weekends they have guided tours. During the week you can walk through the grounds. Not far from the harbor. It can even be rented for things like large parties or weddings. One of the best kept secrets of Ventura.

Good to know. Thirty years in the area, and I wasn't aware that it was open to the public to walk through the grounds on weekdays. Thanks!

I like it, too. And if you want more of the adobe experience, on the other end of the county (11 miles into LA County in Calabasas) there's another good example:

Yep they talk about the murder on the tour. I did not hear any voices when I took the tour though last year. My grandfather was George Olivas. He is not mentioned as one of the 21 kids, though I thought he was. Will have to research more, but my mom is a poor historian these days at 85. He may have been related to the family in another way. He died in 1977 in his 80's.
