There is something that is "bothering"me and I can't find any explanation on the weather channel or similar site. Right now it's 79 In Burlington, 82 in Belfast, Maine, but only 65 in Greenbelt just 10 miles from Washington DC. For the last 3-5 days, it's been cooler in the DC area by more than 10 degrees than it's been in Northern New England. I'd like to know why. Did you hear any explanation online on your local weather stations why it's so warm where you are in Vermont compared to the DC area right now? I've noticed that when there is a mass of artic air coming from the north you in VT get it before we do here in the DC area and when there is warm air from the Gulf of Mexico coming up we do get it way before you do up there. But this is not what's happening right now. Anybody does any idea? It does sound like a stupid, trivial question to but it's just not making sense.

Timely question as it's going to be 90 here today and tomorrow and my mom is complaining how it's only 70s in NY. I'd be happy to trade spaces immediately please lol.

Yeah, I understand everybody must have thought my question was weird, but here in the DC area it's 77 and it's 93 as I right this in Burlington, VT.
I'm just curious and would appreciate if anybody can explain which weather phenomenon is doing that!

I'm with you tkin!
It's been quite warm (80s) here in south east Vt for the last couple weeks. And no rain.
Being it was snowing, lol, early May, makes the late garden start a bit of a scorched after 11 a.m.!
Looking forward to the low 70s next week!

Phorian: no idea why. Lol.

We just went from hot to cold. Frost likely in Essex County tonight. I have a fireplace burning. We still need more rain. Trees are drought stressed here and at the worst time of the season for that.

Yeah now it's back to freezing lol...we got a good dose of rain with the storms on Friday night and have had some more rain since then, hopefully equalized a bit. I see some more in the forecast this week.

Yes, weird month. I heard on VPR this morning that May was the first month (either the first month ever or just the first May, I wasn't listening that closely) in which we had snow and temperatures above 90.
