I live in FL, but my aging parents live in PA. To be closer to them, I would consider moving more north, but want to stay close to coastal areas as I love the beach and remember quaint and lovely little towns in N.J. as a kid (N.J. too cold for me now). Was wondering about the area south of Pokomoke City, MD... like New Church, VA down to Kiptopeke, VA... are there any major shopping areas on that "peninsula" such as Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, etc? I take it you use a ferry to get onto mainland, right? What is the climate, housing, crime and economy like in that area? Is it very touristy or more like small fishing communities? I am single with no children, but have 3 dogs and am in my late 40's. I like quiet, scenic, yet not too far from some activities such as movies, malls, social clubs, etc. (like within an hour's drive). Would appreciate any feedback and info on this area. Thanks!
