Just like the old air-cooled VW vans. Need that ice scraper for the INSIDE, since defrost is non-existent. The bottle opener for popping open your beer to put out the engine fire. Oh, the stories VW vans have made possible! Our kids will never forget them.

I think they are adorable. The practical side of me wants to see if it functions as a work truck, but if it passes the plywood test it will get serious consideration.

Since it's electric, beer will not put out a fire if the battery is involved. Those old engine fires were mostly due to deterioration of gas lines with the engine being air cooled and hot, especially the vans and square backs.
Being electric they have eliminated the most common problem, the transmission. Back in the late 60s-70s when hitch-hiking hippies would pick us up, and 9/10 of the VW vans had on 1-2 gears working, so 35 mph was pushing it.
With the 3 rows of seating these should be very popular for the large family that doesn't go far from home, or local transportation companies like airport shuttles.

That part that is bold'd remains to be seen as they haven't announced efficiency, range, and charging specs for this longer wheelbase, larger capacity battery vehicle unit yet.
Also, not sure if you've ever done this before, but when traveling as a large family with kids, it's often a lot of pitstops that end up getting made whether it's restrooms, restaurants, or just needing a break from being confined in a metal box with people.
It's nice looking... it's basically a minivan, but it may pass for cool ;-). The US-spec version is powerful enough to tote 7 people around without struggling.

I like the smaller one that Europe and the rest of the world has. We don't all need or want the largest versions of vehicles.
