Where do young, black people hang out in Washington DC? I am looking for the real kind of places that a person wouldn't necessarily know about by doing a Google search. Hole in the wall places, clubs in the hood, maybe a pool hall? The sort of places a person might not even know about unless they were born and raised in or near the Southside. Or maybe otherwise stated, the kind of hangout you would tell a person to avoid if they want to be near the young, professional crowd? Thanks in advance to the locals who can answer this for me.

I can't offer much assistance on this topic....but I will mention that according to local news reports many of these types of establishments are rife with violence that usually leads to the city closing the establishment down after numerous fights etc. I'm sure that there are decent places for you to patronize, but I thought i'd point out the numerous stories i've read over the past few years with these types of places. The city and surrounding jurisdictions are taking a hard line against fringe elements running questionable bars/clubs.
