There's no arguing it anymore, the planet is getting hotter, it hit 124 degrees somewhere in Africa this summer. The heat killed 100+ people in Japan. Heat buckling roads in England.

So if it gets any worse, what would be some year round cooler choices if you could afford to live there.

Immediately, I look to altitude. Flagstaff or Santa Fe at 7000 feet, but cold winters. South America has some tempting choices: Quito, Ecuador at 9400 feet, with nearly year round comfort. Yes, you would need to have a warm sweater at times. Bogota, Colombia, at 8600 feet, another choice. La Paz, Bolivia at 12,500 feet. A bit too extreme for me! Mexico City @7200 feet, that's a possibility, or even Guatemala City at 5000 feet.

How about you? Where would you go to escape a hotter and hotter planet?

Some places in Scotland or Ireland seem to be nice if the weather trends are for warmer summers. There would still be a chance of snow. I would have closer values than I am accustomed and I would not have rigorous winters like the subarctic climates near Hudson Bay or Labrador.
Punta Arenas could be an option, or another city in the southern tip of South America, however I think it's fresh for a long time.
New Zealand would not be the best option for me that would like cooler winters, but would be a good choice for those temperatures above the freezing point.
The tropics of very high altitude is good for those who like a constant temperature because it mimics the pattern of an equatorial climate but with milder temperatures due to decreased air volume. It is the case of the capital of Kenya to cite another example.

Lol. Freeze damaged crops in the south. Late frost damaged more crops in spring. Snow buries cattle. Wild life having hard time finding food do to snow cover, Long Island sound was freezing over, ect.

Another planet is our only choice one day. Too bad we can't even get past orbit let alone another star system.

Isabella, Minnesota. 2000ft elevation and in the coldest part of the lower 48.

As an added bonus, in the hypothetical scenario of the US and Canada merging into a single country, it would be a good place, geographically speaking, to build a new capital. (lol)
