I'm just wondering is the left lane (non-hov) considered the fast lane down here?? Where I used to live the left lane was considered to be the fast lane and slower traffic was supposed to move to the right to faster traffic.
Down here it doesn't seem like anyone really pays attention to that.

Yeah, unfortunately, down here people in every lane drive like a bunch of idiots. Still, people are getting killed every day on that death trap.

I saw an old buick flipped on it's side in the middle of 95 last night during the storm. I can't imagine what would happen if it snowed.

You would think that slower traffic keep right would mean something to people. If they want to drive 55, get int he right lane. Of course, you always get some goofball going 55 in the fast lane, either too old, talking on a cell phone, or just plain obnoxious.

I love the left lane hogs that slam the brakes when you shine the brights at them. By the way, I don't tailgate left lane hogs no matter how slow they are. I think the turnpike is even worse than 95 for this problem, though.

What bugs me is the jerks who ride solo in the HOV lane, then cut you off hard to avoid getting caught. What makes you think you are exempt from the law? What makes you think you are so much better than us who follow the rules?

I had someone try that with me about 2 weeks ago, and when they dove into my lane, I layed on the horn getting the FHP's attention, and as we creeped up to him, he snagged the loser.

Unfortunately every lane on 95 is the fast lane...They drive crazy here, and everywhere else. IS everyone late for work around here or what? insane....but then the transit system sucks so most people
have no choice...Even in the right lane they drive too fast, but that's your best bet if you want to
drive a little slower......

I didn't know 40 in a 65 zone was considered fast. In my opinion, I think that the problem is lane behavior, plain and simple. You have all of these left lane hogs while the fast and aggressive drivers try to drive through each other and pass each other via the right in all sorts of directions. But because the slow drivers are in all lanes, it's hard to ever even reach the speed limit on 95. The right lane is usually the FASTEST lane, because every driver down here thinks they are the fastest one on the road and are too good for the right lane, therefore that's the only empty lane to pass in.

People, STAY TO THE RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS, and then MOVE BACK OVER! Adjust process for number of lanes, but remember that the right lane is for the slower motorists (take US1 if you are going below 40) and merging/exiting traffic, and the left lane is STRICTLY, 100% ONLY FOR PASSING. Use the in between lanes to cruise within 10 mph of the speed limit, and if your lane is moving too slow, move left. If someone is tailgating you and there is a clear lane to your right, move over. It's really simple!

Driving here is not a pleasure, whether you take 95 or the Turnpike or any other road. Will say this, 95 in Dade is the worse.

Who said anything about doing 40? If you can or will only do 40, then you don't belong on 95, plain
an simple.
