For those who live in north county, what is the most efficient way to get to an international airport for travel to Europe or Central/South America?

With a few flights to perhaps Bermuda, the Caribbean and maybe Canada, Palm Beach Airport may be an international airport, but it is not a true intercontinental airport.

Do you have to take a private car (whether your own, taxi, shared ride, or car service) to Miami Airport or possibly the slow-as-molasses TriRail from Mangonia?

I believe there is a north county airport and the Martin County airport or Stuart Airport with private air transport services. Do any of these have charter flights to Miami Airport?

Or are there other alternatives?

Thanks.

Car to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami or Orlando will usually get the job done.

Or, PBI to say, JFK or Atlanta, then Europe.

Compared to a good deal on an international flight, a private car to Miami costs almost as much.

Probably not a bad idea to look into a PBI flight to Atlanta, then from there intercontinental. Often an hour flight is cheaper than a 1-2 hr car ride.

Thanks.

I guess I misunderstood. I thought car meant driving my own car (or getting a ride with a friend). But yeah, cabs that far cost way too much. I live 5 minutes from the airport at PBI and it cost $10. I can't imagine an hour or more!

I did rent a car to drive from FLL back to WPB after I missed a flight once though, and had to fly into FLL instead of PBI as planned. Figured it was cheaper than a cab.

If you book an international flight FROM PBI, a lot of times the carrier will re-route through the major airport anyway.

From south county to Miami, about an hour, it costs around $100. I imagine from north county to Miami at least $150, probably closer to $200. Depending on season and deal, a flight to Atlanta could be less.

Thanks again.
