I’m hearing this as well. I haven’t seen it in a planning commission meeting yet, so it may be in the earliest stages. Royal Farms’ second location recently received final approval from the City of Martinsburg in the new Weis development across from The Commons.
wait, what did I just drive by? isnt that across the street (rt 9) - literally from ROCS?
Yes, almost right across from ROC's - there is a big sign a little further up route 9 past the big farm on the left where they are clearing ground and have a big sign saying future home of Heffle Motors. The amount of new businesses and housing developments going up out that way continues to grow but the roads still remain the same - the traffic is terrible.
I was driving on Tennessee Avenue the other day and saw a public notice sign directly across the street from the hospital with Sheetz listed on it - looks like there may be another store on the corner of Tennessee Ave. and Dry Run Road?

I’ve always wondered why exit 14 hasn’t grown more with convenience stores and maybe even a hotel. Between the hospital, residential growth west of town along Dry Run Road it makes sense.
Agreed, I've always wondered why that tract of land went undeveloped for so long and just assumed that the Hospital had future plans for it and any convenience stores/truck stops would be on the open land on the other side of the interstate.
Sheetz remodel disappointing as far as gas pumps go.
Before there was a decent amount of gas pumps. Going past it several times thus far, it appears from the front there’s only one pump now, rather than two, at each island with only one bay. I didn’t get a chance to count total pumps from the front but will guess it’s less than 10. I’m hoping there’s more way in the back. It seems the Sheetz down by Ranson has more pumps and Charles Town too. I think even Martin’ s has more pumps now. C’mon Sheetz, you’re going to have people coming off from I81 and it looks like you’re cutting back on pumps?
Someone please tell me that there is more in the back end (behind Sheetz) ?
