I am really not sure what I want to do. I am working full time right now but I might want to go back to school. I already took a semester off from school. I know it's hard to work full time and go to school full time but I need the money to pay off things.
It is a matter of prioritization. I had friends who said they could not do part time school while working full time because they didn't want to spend the weekend doing school work, etc.
I got my Bachelors while working Full Time. I also got a lot of overtime during that time too. I graduated 2 years ago this week (older graduate). I finished school a year early. I also have a child. It was very hard and I don't think I got a weekend off (except Christmas break) the entire time I was in school. I was exhausted at the end, but didn't have a choice about working at the time. Looking back, I think that working motivated me to do better than if I was only a full time student.
Yes, I did too. Actually, at one point, I had a part-time job (M-F), a full-time job (M-F, weekends, and one-call coverage), and took classes full-time.

I was working 50 hours a week in college, and managed a 3.4 gpa though I had no social life. In graduate school I worked the same job but managed to get my classes into two days a week so it wasn't quite as bad. It should be easier these days with online classes available.
I worked/attended school full time until last quarter, then I brought home 2 C's on my report card. I switched over to part time in school, because I would rather graduate late with a high gpa than graduate on time with an average gpa.

It's not for everyone and you might be living on Mountain Dews and energy drinks for the most part. I think it depends on if your grades have suffered when you worked FT and went to school FT previously. If you haven't tried it, then you may want to try it on one semester of easier classes. Your girlfriend can study with you.
Working full time and going to school full time (if in a technical program) is basicly not possible. Its a standard montra for old people to shoot off at the mouth about but when you really get down to where the rubber meets the road either your grades will suffer and you wont graduate or your work will suffer and you will get fired OR you will have to take like 3-6 credits a semester and it will take you half your life to graduate, also you have to be careful about credits recycling after 7 years in some programs.
This is in regards to engineering programs, I guess if someone is a super genious and took minimal time to study and do homework it could be done but 95% of the time its not practical and is simply a catch phrase for old people to shoot off at the mouth about. Maybe its possible in a BA program but not a BS program.
