Apparently I did quit my job for my own reasons and now it seems to be tough to find another network engineer position.

I used to work in a data center role. I have done routing/switching/security and have worked with the below hardware.

Fortinet - 5 years

Cisco - 6+ years

Meraki - 3 years
Cradle point - 5 years

TCP/IP/networking etc.
IPSEC/SSL VPN
Data center vpn conc 15000+ vpns
BGP/OSPF/EIGRP routing
Wifi deployment/troubleshooting and design

Can't find a job with my experience, what am I missing here?

Certs
CCNA R/S
CCNA Security
Fortinet NSE
Cisco Meraki
Comptia Net/Sec+

I am guessing I need to add a CCNP and python to my cert/experience list?

This may be a better question for the employment section. At the end of the day - what you have on paper looks good. And getting a CCNP isn't going to hurt (are you pursuing that? And is there a goal to getting CCIEs?). But the key is how are you at doing these things? The above tells me what you've been working with - but not necessarily what you've accomplished with them. What differentiates you? What can a potential employer get by hiring you?

Not expecting you to answer these question on this forum. But the point is that your resume and your application for job should answer those questions. So it may not be a matter of not being qualified - but not being able to adequately sell the skills you have. Thus, adding more isn't going to necessarily help.

The fact that you've had experience in a DC is a great thing. Are you looking at the same type of job? Data center provider or MSPs? Or are you looking for an internal IT gig? The latter may be harder as many small/mid-sized companies may opt to look to their MSPs or vendors for anything above daily operations stuff (which you may be overqualified for).

What about a sales engineer position? Is that something you'd be interested in?

Where do you live?

Why do I have to ask this in a forum that provides a place for you to put that information??

Question is, where/how are you looking?

indeed.com. dice.com, monster.com is where I would start. Setup email alerts and try not to be too specific on the keywords. I would just choose "technology" or "IT" and leave it at that. Widen the search area as well.

True I'm in Denver, problem is I left my last job and it seems to be harder than it should be to find a job in this field. I'm applying/have had some interviews and so far no luck with an actual job offer

You quit a job without having another one lined up?

Yes, the story itself is even worse than you can possibly imagine. I was emotional at the time and my new manager said just quit your job and like an idiot i said okay, i will
and i quit. HR asked me, are you sure you want to do this? I said yes, im done here

If I post my resume here. I'm sure you'll be shocked

Well the reason I asked is because I've really been thinking about it too but have put the squash on it recently after reading a lot of stories about it.

Did you at least have several months of living expenses saved up? I'm not sure about this site and if it welcomes resume reviews but I'm no expert so I couldn't help, not to mention you have a lot of stuff that looks great on paper so I wouldn't be too discouraged.
