You are getting along fine with management and your last review was a good one. You get into an argument with your managers manager and six months later you get a poor review which warns you that what were acceptable and realistic problem solutions are no longer acceptable practices. The off cycle review now warns you that these solutions need to stop or further action will be taken.

Constructive termination on its way?

What are your thoughts?

You didn't get the point. The criticisms were designed to make improving performance impossible.

Learn not to be dumb enough to get into arguments with anyone at work, much less your manager's manager.

This isn't difficult. Sit down with the person you argued with and repair the relationship.

As you're union, what does your shop steward say?

Yet another union themed thread from the OP. Can't he just combine all his questions into the same union threads he's already created?

We get it already.

Unions are good and protect the workers, non-union jobs are bad and do not protect the workers. How many variations of this theme do we need already?

Managers are not always right. There are many managers who just think and say they are right even when they are wrong. Those are like bullies. And there are many layers in the management. When the higher one in the management feels p*ssed off about someone, the lower one has to try to cover up for that higher one to protect him/her; otherwise, s/he would loose her/his job.

Those who always think "subordinates" have to do whatever the managers tell you to do, even they know it's wrong, are like they don't have brain of their own. Many employees are afraid or don't dare to speak up for what they know is wrong, that's why there are so many managers think they have the rights to manipulate and bully the employees. It's horrible to work in a bullying environment ruled by the management.

That's why it's good to have Unions to support and speak up for the employees who are not so smooth or skillful in socializing or communicating, even though they have good technical skills. Unions don't always protect the lazy, cheating employees. I know it because many of those got fired at my workplace.

I will always treat a bully with contempt.

This wasn't about unions but if it was I would be writing enough of these thread to get through to the most obtuse union hater.

That's an acceptable response for a 15 year old. Now my advise is to act like an adult in this situation, sit down and talk to the person. Anyone getting into arguments at work shows an immaturity that has no place on the job.
