At my job that wasn’t included. Only my grandparents (if they where still alive) At my friends job she gets 3 days for her spouses grandmother. What is the normal protocol? Also she has only been there since May. Took a 1.5 week vacation 3 weeks after she started (pre approved) and asked to leave early the day before her trip. Then called in sick the day she was supposed to return. Now she is taking 1.5 or 2 days for the funeral. Would you have an issue with that as an employer? It’s a support planner role. People I’ve worked with have lost jobs for that.

Default Attendance Police?

How is this any of your business to begin with? Apparently her actions have been cleared by management. MYOB and do your job rather than worrying about what others are doing.

I’ll put it a bit nicer than the previous poster - it’s up to the friend and the employer. Usually it doesn’t work out well, but that’s for the employer to decide.

If your friend's job benefits sound appealing to you, maybe you could ask her if there are any openings at her company that would be a good fit for you.

^^ this.

There are other threads about the friend. Maybe you should reconsider your friendship with her.

This. It's been suggested multiple times before when you start threads about what other employers or employees do. Sounds like you are fishing for more reasons to condemn this friend who got upset because you didn't want to attend this funeral. Now she's a bad employee too?

TBH OP you start a lot of threads speculating about, even criticizing these "friends"'s lives. Why do you create all this drama? Why do these things matter so much? IMHO it can give others the impression that you are a busybody and a gossip. It isn't a good look. Live your own life and leave others to theirs especially if you don't know the facts. We don't know them either. If your own business doesn't keep you interested enough, change that.
