My work culture uses "idea-ate" as a synonym for brain-storming. I continuously receive "invites" (invitations) to meetings.
I guess this is how the English language evolves. It comes across as laziness to me - type as few characters as possible because you're using your thumbs. (Don't get me started on "ur".)
I've coined a new word - among oteher ones (unless I am not aware somebody did it before me) - which you will find it at the very end.

When my daughter was little, I made up a word to use as her secret/safe word. Also, when she was one of the finalists in a spelling bee, I asked her to spell this made up word just to see if she was paying attention. My husband and I couldn't stop laughing when she spelled it "correctly" but with an uncertain look on her face. I still use that word today as the beginning of many of my passwords!
