Conducted an inspection and consult at this datcare due to the confirmed case of shigella that had been reported. The PIC (Renee Bolding) was on hand to discuss SOP's for general sanitation, sanitizer usage, employee illness, food temperatures, and food handling. Renee had attended a PIC food safety education class and will be attending another in about a month. A copy of the food code concerning employee illness and an employee illness log was left with Renee.
Cross contamination issues were also discussed concerning shigella / food service in general / and wiping clothes in the daycare setting.
Checked coolers and freezers = were working properly.
Checked the exterminators report and found no activity noted.
