Description: Beginning at Grant Road on the north and traveling to 29th Street/Silverlake Road—with a short break between Silverlake Road and Ajo Way—cyclists, joggers, walkers, and skaters take advantage of this linear park along the banks of the Santa Cruz River for recreation and transportation.Sites along the way include the Garden of Gethsemane, a huge stone monument with various religious figures (see the Attractions chapter), a disc golf course, beautiful ceramic work by local artist Susan Gamble, and Tucson’s largest tree—a huge eucalyptus measuring 4 feet in diameter located just under the Congress Street Bridge. Picnic sites are also available.At El Paseo de los Arboles, a park within a park, trees can be planted in a grove as a living remembrance of a loved one or for a special occasion. This tiny park has won national recognition for planning and implementation. Planting is done on a scheduled basis.Parking with access to the east side of the park can be found north of Speedway Boulevard or near the 22nd Street Bridge where each street intersects the bike path. Parking with access to the west side can be found just south of Speedway Boulevard.
