There are 565 licensed beds and 1,300 physicians. It has the busiest childbirth center in Colorado: With more than 5,000 births per year, Saint Joseph is the birthplace of 10 percent of Colorado’s babies. The hospital’s Maternal/Fetal Medicine program and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery ensure that babies needing extra help get the best care available before and after birth. Saint Joseph excels in other services including oncology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, and pulmonology. It also serves as the downtown emergency center for Children’s Hospital and Kaiser Permanente.
