Description: This blue storefront that declares “A Taste of Holland” is a destination for locals in SoNo and for homesick Dutch immigrants, who come for hundreds of miles to get the items they can only get here. Of course, this family business founded in 1983 has the usual teas, cookies, jams, spices, candies, and cakes from the Netherlands, but they also have 85 flavors of Dutch licorice and dozens of cheeses, like Edam, Friese Nagel, and Rookvlees. The herring and mackerel here is the best you can find anywhere. Kaas also has souvenirs of various sorts, including Dutch tiles. If you’re not a homesick Dutch tourist, this is still a great stop while walking the streets of SoNo, after viewing the aquarium or before eating across the street at Match.
