Description: The Hatsume Spring Fair celebrates the first buds of spring and turns a little corner of Delray Beach into Japan for a weekend. This joyful event takes place in mid to late Mar at one of the most beautiful spots in South Florida—the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, which is green and serene, with red wooden footbridges crossing ponds filled with koi, rock gardens, incredibly intricate bonsai trees, small waterfalls flowing down rocks, and native Florida pines and palms. Three stages provide continuous entertainment, including taiko drumming, traditional Japanese folk music, martial arts demonstrations, origami lessons, plant sales, children’s activities, and folk-tale telling. There are booths with craftspeople and artisans (and a booth that sells all the great old Japanese monster movies!), plenty of good Japanese food, and a Kirin Beer Garden. Admission is charged.
