Description: Here, in this magnificently restored school from the early 1900s you can see excellent cabaret performances that you’ll remember for a long time. It’s called The Broadway Cabaret Series, that during the 2010 season, featured Will and Anthony Nunziata, identical twins who have performed with the Boston Pops and the Cleveland Pops. Or you might have seen a true American icon—the amazing bundle of energy known as Chita Rivera, Broadway’s most accomplished singer/dancer/ actress, and a recipient of The President’s Award. You might have seen Christine Andreas, star of stage and screen, and a multiple Tony Award nominee and winner of the prestigious Theatre Award. There was also Christine Ebersole, who’s won Tonys for her performances in Grey Gardens and 42nd Street. Adam Pascal, nominated for an Emmy for his touching performance on Broadway in Rent, played the same role in the movie.Housed in the restored 1925 Delray High School building, the Crest Theatre was originally the high school auditorium. Before its opening in 1993, it was re-designed as a charming, 323-seat, state-of-the-art facility combining the original high school color (blue) with warm burgundy and gold accents. It’s now a truly intimate entertainment experience, particularly in a format such as cabaret. The Broadway Cabaret Series runs from Jan to Apr.
