Description: Opened in 1989, the Windsor Gardens has a lot to offer, not the least of which is its location. It’s 2 miles from the beaches of Juno Beach and Singer Island; 2 miles from the Intracoastal Waterway; 3 miles from the Gardens Mall, and surrounded by good golf courses. The 90 rooms at this hotel have one king or two doubles, and there’s a $10 per night charge for each extra person (in existing bedding). Each room has a coffeemaker and iron/ironing board, and some come with microwave and minifridge; all come with a complimentary continental breakfast. There’s a pool and a fitness center. The hotel is smartly and interestingly designed, with touches of stone, classic American, wicker, and modern. Pets allowed; $35 flat fee.The extra touches go far beyond the hotel’s location. There’s an excellent restaurant called Secrets Piano Bar & Grill, where noted chef Joseph Angelucci proffers up wonderful American cuisine tinged with a touch of Asian. His signature dishes include voodoo shrimp and what some local folks believe is the finest hummus in America. In addition, every month the Palm Beach Post sponsors a Best of the Best themed wine dinner here.Another great touch is the 13,000 square feet of meeting space. Spaces run the gamut from intimate boardroom to sprawling ballroom, and even the ballroom can be divided up into three smaller spaces. If you hold a meeting here, you’ll be able to utilize the first-class catering department, which can provide anything from sushi to caviar—and the services of Chef Angelucci. This area has an abundance of dive shops and charter boats, so you can explore the brilliantly colored coral reef up-close-and-personal, as well as the numerous sunken ships in the area. Tennis and golf are nearby, as well, in addition to West Palm Beach attractions such as the Dreher Park Zoo, Lion Country Safari, and Raymond Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
