Description: Since 1990, Don Ramon restaurant has proclaimed that “Mi casa es su casa.” And it’s true to Palm Beach County residents who love Cuban food, this place has felt like home for 20 years. It has the ambience of a real Havana restaurant. And it has the cuisine, as well. For an authentic taste of Old Cuba, you can start off with the appetizer called chicharrones de pollo, chicken chunks with sautéed onions; or the yucca rellena (stuffed yucca). Follow that with the sopa de frijoles negros (black bean soup). And there are many very good entrees here. One of them is the bistec delmonico, a flavorful rib eye steak marinated and served the with sautéed onions. Another one is the milanesa de pollo, which is boneless breast of chicken breaded, deep-fried, and then topped with Spanish Creole sauce, ham, and melted mozzarella cheese.Cuban desserts have just the sweet touch needed to follow up the main courses. Don’t leave without trying the tres leches, three-milk wet cake topped with meringue.
