Many guests start off with one of the distinctive Indian breads; among the popular ones are chapati (a thin bread baked on the griddle), tandoori roti (whole-wheat flour baked in a tandoori oven), and onion kulcha naan (unleavened bread stuffed with onions and baked in a tandoori oven). If you love chicken, try the chicken palak, boneless and cooked in creamy spinach. Try the lamb curry, spiced with a hint of fire. If you’re a vegetarian, you’ve come to the right place; the aloo chhole is a North Indian dish of onions and chickpeas with potatoes. Top it all off with the sweetness of gulab jamun, a dumpling that’s made out of cottage cheese and dried milk, then deep-fried and dipped in sugar syrup.
