Description: Bradleyville R-I School in the eastern part of Taney County encompasses a district of 137 square miles. Much of the district is in the Mark Twain National Forest. Total enrollment is 240 students, with 98 students in grades kindergarten through 6 and 145 in grades 7 through 12. Assessed valuation is about $7.4 million. The district has not been affected much by the Branson boom except that it provided employment for a large number of people already living in the district. The school suffered a major disaster several years ago when a building collapsed, but generous support from district patrons and fund-raising by Branson theaters, along with federal monies, helped build a new building in 1996. The school received a technology grant several years ago and added several networked computers with access to the Internet. All the classrooms and offices are connected through the networks, and the library has a computer lab for students to conduct online research.
