During the 25-plus years the shop has been in business, it has gained a reputation for being “the surfer’s surf shop,” specializing in surfing only. Scott, who has his own line of boards called In The Eye, manufactures custom boards and does repairs. Carol makes clothing (her hand-sewn women’s and men’s tops and children’s shirts and dresses are unique and colorful). The shop rents surfboards, boogie boards, swim fins, wet suits, and surf videos and sells surfing gear, clothing, T-shirts, and sweatshirts. It’s open Mar through Dec.

In a room overlooking Pamlico Sound, you can browse over a delightful selection of notecards and stationery. The owner, Gee Gee, is an avid reader and willing to discuss literature.
