Description: On the west side of the Bypass, the Beach Barn Shops is the place to stop. It houses Birthday Suits/OBX Gear, a popular swimsuit and sportswear shop. Southern Living magazine wrote, “Everybody goes to Birthday Suits for a new bathing suit.” For women, there’s an unbelievable selection of cute suits in all styles, including mix-and-match separates, bra-size tops, and maternity, mastectomy, athletic, and long-torso suits. Women also love the contemporary sportswear, a fine selection of dressy dresses (including some by Betsey Johnson), and accessories—purses, shoes, hats, luggage, and pajamas. Men find trunks and briefs and a whole selection of sportswear and Hawaiian surf shirts. Kids’ and babies’ suits are adorable.
