Description: Located opposite the Gettysburg Tour Center (see the GNMP chapter), this chain hotel has 47 rooms that are equipped with two double beds or one king-size bed. The hotel actually consists of two buildings—one that was constructed in May 2000 and a second, renovated building that used to be the Heritage Motor Lodge. Suites with a king-size bed, a queen-size pullout bed, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a whirlpool tub are available, as is Sleepy Bear Den, a suite geared toward folks traveling with kids. Although the hotel does charge for local calls, a high-speed wireless Internet connection is available, and children younger than age 18 stay free with an adult. A select number of rooms have balconies, and you can park directly in front of some of the ground-floor rooms. Parking is free. Walking to major attractions is a breeze from here; you’re only 7 blocks south of Lincoln Square and 3 blocks from the Gettysburg National Military Park.
