Description: The Gettysburg Music Muster features Civil War bands, fife and drum musicians, and parlor music, and you can listen to all this entertainment for free. Concerts begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center. Performances are held throughout the day at the military park and at the Dobbin House, on Steinwehr Avenue. The final performance, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to sundown, is held at the Pennsylvania Memorial. Attendees should bring lawn chairs and blankets to spread on the ground. The year 2009 will mark the music muster’s 15th anniversary and the Victorian Dance Ensemble’s 9th year performing at the muster. The 50-plus-member ensemble, which was formed in 1995, demonstrates dances of the mid-19th century. Be warned—audience participation is a highlight of every presentation.
