Description: This 18-hole course opened in the late 1980s, and it was designed by Roger Weaver, who also later designed the Meadowbrook Golf course (see listing in this chapter). Amenities include a clubhouse with a pro shop, a restaurant, a lounge, and a putting green. No metal-spike shoes are allowed, and proper golf attire is required. Cedar Ridge Golf Course is located less than 10 miles from Gettysburg. To reach the course, travel south on Baltimore Pike for about 5 miles and turn right onto Two Taverns Road. The course is on the right in about 2 miles. At 5,938 yards and a par 72, the course’s first nine holes are relatively straightforward while the back nine are more challenging. A good round here requires accuracy—large cedar trees line many of the fairways, and about a third of the holes feature water hazards. The No. 11 hole is deceivingly difficult—although only 93 yards, this par 3 combines water and cedar trees. Tee times are recommended but not required, and it costs $23 to walk and $38 to ride the course. Seniors can ride the course for $28 on weekdays.
