The telemonitoring system is about the size of a clock radio, and each day a gentle, friendly voice guides the client through the simple procedure to collect the vital signs (weight, temperature, and blood sugar). The client is then asked up to 10 questions about his or her condition that can be answered by pressing a yes or no button on the monitor. The monitor automatically transmits the data via telephone connection to the offices of Lutheran Home Care Services, where it is reviewed daily by a nurse.
