Description: It might look small and dark from the sidewalk, but the Flying Bull is anything but. As you enter, the first thing you see is the long, long bar, which occupies the entire right side of the area, with just enough room behind the bar stools to move through the crowd that usually gathers here. About halfway down this aisle on the left is another room with plenty of space for people to dance to the music that fills the place most nights. While you’re dancing, take time to read the messages written in chalk on the wall that runs along this area. The wall is reserved for military personnel, who are invited to sign it. At the end of the bar, there’s another room that has some pool tables for those who prefer to cue up rather than dance. The Flying Bull usually hosts live bands on Tuesday, Wednesday is open-mike night, and DJs provide the entertainment Thursday through Saturday nights. Many local residents frequent the Flying Bull, and students from Gettysburg College also make up a good portion of the crowd while school is in session. The place is always closed on Sunday, and it’s also closed on Monday when the college kids are on break.
