Description: Husband-and-wife team Larry and Darla Conover run this franchise fitness center aimed at keeping the older generation active and fit. Open to persons age 40 and older, the club features a 30-minute circuit. Members alternate between using adjustable hydraulic-resistance machines for strength training and exercising aerobically at interval stations for a cardio workout. Club 50 considers nutrition to be the first step in any fitness program, so it offers many nutritional products and supplements, including multivitamins, protein beverages and snacks, and sports drinks. The Conovers received comprehensive training at Club 50 University on the fitness and nutrition programs offered at their gym so they are equipped to give members personal training and attention.Open since late 2007, the fitness center has expanded to include night group classes in yoga and total body toning. Club 50 Fitness is located outside of Gettysburg at Commerce Park, near the U.S. Route 15 and U.S. Route 30 interchange east of town, and it’s open every day except Sunday.
