Description: Open April through October, the Gettysburg KOA Kampground has 100 private wooded sites as well as air-conditioned cottages and cabins. Be sure to check out the Kamper Kitchen, which is located at the pavilion and outfitted with a stove, sink, and counter space. You might also want to head to the pavilion to take advantage of the inexpensive all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast that’s held every summer weekend. Campers will also find minigolf, horseshoes, bike rentals, shuffleboard, and nature trails to fill up their days. A history film is shown nightly, and a shuttle to and from town is available twice a day for a fee. Weekly planned activities include a Civil War–era fashion show, candlelit ghost walks through the campground, and the chance to experience living history by observing Civil War encampments. A campsite without any hookups is around $45 a night, and a pull-through site with all amenities will cost you around $60 a night. Rates are for two adults and two children younger than age 13 at one camping site. The campground’s 16 one-room and two-room Kamping Kabins, which rent for $50 to $85 per night, are equipped with air-conditioning, heat, a porch swing, a picnic table, a fire ring with grill top, and a charcoal grill. Pets are allowed in the cabins for a $10 fee. There are also four Kamping Kottages. The basic camping cottages have all the amenities the cabins have plus a bathroom, and they rent for $70 to $97 per night. The Deluxe Kamping Kottages also have a bathroom with shower; a propane fireplace; a kitchenette with refrigerator, stove top, coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, pots and pans, dishes, cooking and eating utensils, and dish towels; and a dining area with a log table and chairs. The deluxe cottage is $100 to $149 per night. No pets are allowed in the cottages, and there’s a two-night minimum stay. There are also two Kamping Lodges available for rent. Each has a complete bathroom with shower; a kitchenette with refrigerator, stove top, coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, pots and pans, dishes, cooking and eating utensils, and dish towels; a dining area with log table and chairs; wood-frame beds; air-conditioning and ceiling fans; heat; a porch swing and a picnic table; and a fire ring with a grill top. Renting a lodge will cost you $120 to $160 per night. No pets are allowed, and there’s a two-night minimum stay.
