Description: Known to locals as the G-Man, you’ll find lots of casual ambience and lots of food and drink choices here. From the outside it looks like someone’s house, but when you enter the restaurant, you realize it’s much larger than it looks. The front part of the main level has many tables, and the bar area is in the back, where you’ll find more tables available. Upstairs is another room that can be used for private parties or overflow business. All the food served here except for the potato salad and coleslaw is homemade. For lighter fare, you can choose from soup, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and fajitas. Dinners, which are served beginning at noon, include beef, seafood, chicken, pork, and pasta selections. And don’t overlook the Snacks, Treats, and Eats part of the menu—most of these are ample enough to serve as a meal. My husband is always stuffed after eating the supreme nachos from this part of the menu, and my cousin Teresa always orders the potato skins for lunch when she’s in town visiting. My favorite selection for lunch or dinner is the English-style roast-beef sandwich, which is served with au jus for dipping. The G-Man also offers an extensive kids’ menu, ranging from a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to battered shrimp and fries, with prices in the reasonable $4 to $5 range.
